Whose Fault Is It?
July 2nd, 2008 10:32 PM

If there was a way and is it even possible to:

  1. Always get the best rate available.
  2. Never pay points of any kind (unless by customer choice).
  3. Know exactly what the transaction is going to cost right from the beginning.
  4. Always get the best advice and direction from qualified, fully trained representatives.
  5. Close your transaction faster and with zero uncertainty.
  6. Pay the lowest fees in the industry.
  7. Understand the mortgage process so you can truly know that the right decision was made.
  8. Always know exactly what the loan representative is making on the transaction.

Do these things have value? What is it worth? What is anyone willing to do?

We know representatives in any profession need to earn income for their work and effort yet we continue to hear so many reports of fraud, miscommunication, poor conduct and excessive fees on the part of the loan representative.  Is this because loan representatives are generally crooks? Surely this can't be the case.  We also wonder how the consumer can be blindsided by bad business when there is so much information on line that should help a customer to understand the transaction better seemingly making it impossible for them to be taken advantage of. We have our own thoughts but would like to hear from the community.
